    Through July 2020

Sebastiano Mauri ‘s Aliens 2018 is a new series of mixed media works specifically conceived and produced for The Sculpture Park 2018-2019 edition in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The three large glass-domes depict three different scenes where Aliens, after arriving on earth, experience the confrontation with symbols and icons of our world and our culture: from humans’ photographs to nature, from musical instruments to design furniture.
Built as a visionary theater scene, the series aims at exposing the mechanisms of discrimination inherent in all of us, often metabolized and therefore unaware.
A Not-for-Profit initiative, inaugurated in December 2017, The Sculpture Park is India’s first contemporary public sculpture park. A nonprofit collaboration between the government and Saat Saath Arts Foundation, which is supported by corporate sponsors and curated by Peter Nagy of Nature Morte gallery in Delhi, the park is located inside the Madhavendra Palace within the historic Nahargarh Fort in the northern city of Jaipur, capital of the State of Rajasthan. The Sculpture Park is the first example of collaboration between state government and private cultural philanthropy in contemporary art.
