    OTTO ZOO presents Ventotto, a group show of 28 works by most of the artists who have exhibited in the gallery space since its beginning, January 28th, 2008.

    The chosen selection testifies the development of the gallery program throughout the years,  which has encompassed different media, involved emerging and established foreign artists, some having their first show in Italy, and young Italian talents, some having their first solo-show in the gallery project-room.

    The artworks in the current show, almost all two-dimensional, focus on the interactions that humans develop with nature, religion, history, time passing by and places we live in. All together the artworks generate an imaginative atlas of human relations and emotions, where they relate to each other by visual tracks.

    The artists in the group show are: Marina Berio (Boston, 1966), Alexandra Catiere (Minsk, 1978), T-yong Chung (Tae-gu, 1977), Marjolijn De Wit (Bennekom, 1979), Gregory Forstner (Doual, 1975), Paul Himmel (New Haven, 1914 – New York, 2009), MASTEQUOIA (Roma, 1982), Sebastiano Mauri (Milano, 1972), Maria Morganti (Milano, 1965), Angelo Mosca (Chieti, 1961), Stephen Mueller (Norfolk, 1947 – New York, 2011), Agne Raceviciute (Klaipeda, 1988), Chiara Elisa Ragghianti (Lucca, 1971), Jani Ruscica (Savonlinna, 1978), Bharat Sikka (New Delhi, 1973), Gian Domenico Sozzi (Solaro, 1960), Giulio Squillacciotti (Roma, 1982).

    OTTO ZOO Project

    The gallery space also hosts the project room of Nicoletta Dalfino Spinelli, curated by Michela Rossetti.

    She presents an installation of collages, photographs and mixed-media works, where the images are taken from photographic albums, hand-books and magazines collected by the artist.

    Hovering between a minimal, archivistic approach and a more emotional and intimistic one,  Dalfino Spinelli’s work explores subjetcts such as migration, displacement, long-distance family relations and new collective and individual configurations.

    Nicoletta Dalfino Spinelli (Bari, 1987; lives and works in Milan) studies at NABA (Nuova Accademia Belle Arti) in Milan and attended the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham (UK). Her artwork was included in the group shows Mi abitano, che io abito (Spazio Sottobosco, Milan, 2009) and Cemento Armato_ Cantiere #2, curated by Marco Scotini and Marcello Maloberti (Galleria Artra, Milan, 2009).
